Job description: This research position will consist of a full time position for a period of 12 months at SEGAL (Space & Earth Geodetic Analysis Laboratory), Department of Computer Sciences, University of Beira Interior, Covilhã, Portugal. The selected candidate will conduct research in the field of development of computational methods to produce strain rate fields and implement the operational estimation of velocities from GNSS stations. Candidates must hold a M.Sc. in Computer Sciences or similar areas.

- Candidates must have completed a M.Sc. in Computer Sciences or similar areas.
- Proficiency in English.
Preferential Requisites:
o Strong knowledge of Information Systems and Internet Protocols.
o Ability to work in an organized and structured way
o Good social and team working skills.
o Capacity to work independently, according to the instructions received.
o Experience in research.
Work plan: The candidate will to assist in the computations of strain rate maps (Task 6). Task 6 of SPIDER project is dedicated to computing the current horizontal and vertical surface deformation, based on a dense
network of GNSS permanent receivers. He/she will provide the required manpower to process the large data volume available from GNSS stations.
Working place: SEGAL (Space & Earth Geodetic Analysis Laboratory), Department of Computer Sciences, University of Beira Interior, Covilhã, Portugal, under the supervision of Prof. Rui Fernandes.
Duration of Research Fellowship: The fellowship will last 12 months and is expected to start by February 2017 or the earliest possible date thereafter.
