Learning outcomes To understand the workings of the human body at the level of the following issues:

- Elasticity of tendons, blood vessels, bones;
- Significance and behaviour of fluids (blood, lymph, aqueous humour, cerebrospinal fluid, synovial fluid) in the human body;
- Transport phenomena involving the blood, air and heat;
- Importance of diffusion at the cellular level;
- Transport phenomena across cell membranes;
- Propagation of electrical signals in the human body (particularly along the axons);
- Propagation of sound and electromagnetic waves (light)
Syllabus 1 - Elasticity and strength of materials.
2 - Fluids in static equilibrium in the human body.
3 - The motion of fluids in the human body.
4 - Heat and kinetic theory. Diffusion.
5 - Osmosis.
6 - Heat and life.
7 - Electricity and the nervous system.
8 - Waves, sound and light.
9 - Senses: hearing and vision.
