Syllabus |
1 - Definition of Epidemiology, its objectives and methods. Historic evolution; 2 - Epidemiology in the management and quality of health organizations; 3 - Health indicators in a community, calculation and interpretation. Data sources; 4 - Measure health and disease - frequency measures; 5 - Natural History of a Disease, Levels of Prevention and respective interrelation; 6 - Epidemiological Studies, their characteristics, indications and limitations. Association and impact measures. 7 - Screening and diagnostic tests; 8 - Characteristics of diagnostic tests; 9 - Introduction to the epidemiology of infectious diseases; 10 - Introduction to environmental epidemiology; 11 - Clinical Epidemiology; 12 - MBE, NNT; 13 - Basic concepts of statistics for reading epidemiological studies.
