To understand the concepts of integrated water management and pollution control, as well as the several processes for water resources management.

Competences:
(a) Understanding the complexity, uncertainty and interdisciplinary nature of the problems of water management, recognizing their technical aspects, ecological, economic and social development;
(b) Recognition of methodologies and techniques for water quality monitoring and pollution control, data analysis and mathematical modeling;
(c) Domain of the main mechanisms of pollutant transport in porous media;
(d) Understanding of environmental assessment systems and environmental management systems, in their ethical, legislative, methodological, technical, scientific, administrative and decision-making aspects.
