To Differentiate signalization molecules, cell receptors and signalization types.
To Integrate signalization mechanisms on physiological regulation.
To Describe mitotic, meiotic and apoptotic mechanisms.
To Distinguish by optic microscopic cells on mitotic and meiotic states.
To Discriminate the major diferences between apoptotic and necrotic cells.
Syllabus Prokaryotic and eucariotic cells. Endosymbiotic theory. Cytoskeleton, chromosomes, nuclear envelope and
nucleus (elementary notions of gene expression). Dynamics and regulation, nuclear transport, aggregation and
disaggregation. Compartmentation, structure and function of the cytoplasmic membrane, hialoplasma,
cytoskeleton, microfilaments, intermediate filaments, microtubules. Mitochondria, chloroplasts, ribosomes,
endoplasmic reticulum, Golgi complex: morphology, composition and functions .Lysosomes and peroxisome:
structure and functions. Signalization: paracrine, endocrine, autocrine and synaptic. Membrane receptors
coupled to G protein and ion channels, tyrosine kinase and phosphatase. Nitric oxide, acetylcholine, and
phospholipase C signalization via. CAMP and Ca+2. Mitosis and Meiosis: phases and checkpoints. Apoptosis
and effectors. P: Quantification of proteins, amino acids, vitamin C and amido assessement, microscopy, and
mitotic phases.
