Learning outcomes Acquisition of effective skills in 3D modelling with emphasis on organic shapes. Acquisition of effective skills in the creation of photorealistic images from the 3D models (rendering).
Practice of using different 3D CAD systems in conjunction, in order to exploit the best features of each one in a project
Reinforcement of the understanding of the interconnections between Modelling and Fabrication.
Development of the capacity for self-learning CAD programs
Syllabus 3D modeling in parametric and subdivision CAD programs. Exchange of files between CAD programs, 3D modeling of an object passed through two different programs, taking advantage of the most appropriate functionalities in each one at each modeling stage.
Modeling of complex organic shapes in CAD programs by subdivision. Types of continuity between surfaces. Tools for analyzing the quality of transitions between surfaces. Closed and open models and preparation for 3D printing. Creation of photorealistic images. from 3D models through specialized programs for this purpose. Creation of textures based on images, with students being introduced to image processing tools to create their own textures.
