Learning outcomes |
The curricular unit aims to practical apprehension of the structural elements of the design; the apprehension of representation methodologies and the exploration of techniques from the context of the design; understanding of concepts central to design and visual representation; the ability to articulate the design with three-dimensionality and its exploration both artistic, both technical, scientific and playful, with diverse areas of communication. At the end of the curricular unit the student should be able to acquire experimental, creative and exploratory capabilities in the visual materialization of ideas and concepts through design as a basis; apply design processes and practices in technical and methodological development adjusted to the specific objectives of each exercise; develop capacities for argumentation, organisation and presentation of work; develop participatory and cooperative working skills in diverse individual and collective contexts.

Syllabus |
Structural grammar of Drawing: practical development of the point elements, line, plane, structure, contour and volume, perspective, lumin values, surfaces and texture, symmetry, asymmetry, overlap, scale, space. Representation and communication: development of structuring relationships of visual communication in the materialization of concepts. Development of analysis capabilities, synthesis and aesthetic intention of elements of distinct characteristics. Integration of images, texts, messages, materials in visual compositions. Technological exploitation: practical development of design by the diversity of expressive and technical possibilities through the representation of objects. exploration and appreciation of a personal point of view in the development and thinking of design and visual representation. Awareness of the intersection of design as a tool and basis of the design activity, introducing students to their direct application in fashion design projects.
