Learning outcomes - Allow students to acquire a broad overview of bioengineering.
- Provide students with skills in scientific research methodologies.
- Prepare students for the beginning of the research activity in Bioengineering.
Syllabus Academic integrity, ethics and plagiarism.
Introduction to research in bioengineering.
Scientific research methodologies. The art of literature review.
Thematic lectures on topics in different areas of bioengineering.

Teaching Methodologies and Assessment Criteria The assessment is based on two elements:
- Report and presentation of the study on a specific subject, including or state of the art (30%).
- Periodic presentations of the work developed during the semester on a determined theme in the area of Bioengineering (70%).
Language Portuguese. Tutorial support is available in English.
