The main purpose of this course is to allow students to master at an advanced level the most used computer tools at the office level. Specifically, it aims to provide students with skills in the use of the most advanced tools of word processors and presentations, to prepare them for the use of the spreadsheet as decision support tool in companies, through computing, analysis of large amounts of data, simulation, modelling and optimization capabilities, as well as to prepare students for the use of the MATLAB computing environment, in the creation, analysis and simulation of models applied in various areas such as industrial control or financial management.
Syllabus 1. Advanced use of word processing tools (eg, tables, indexes, cross-references, section breaks, revision tools, headers and footers, mail merge).

2. Introduction to the MATLAB computing environment (eg Basic Functionalities, Basic Operations and Functions, Declarations, Expressions and Variables, Recording a Session, Vectors and Arrays, Two-Point Notation, Vector and Dot Functions, 2D and 3D Graphics, Functions Maximum and Minimum, Command Line and Call Editing, Loops for, while, and if blocks, File Manipulation, Strings, Error Messages, Input, Output Formats).

3. Advanced use of computing tools (eg Basic Functionality, Absolute and Relative References, Data Validation, Forms, Conditional Formatting, Protection, Simple and Conditional Formatting, Functions, Pivot Tables, Sorting and Filters, Formulas Auditing, Printing, Hypotheses Analysis, Graphs).

4. Advanced use of presentation tools (e.g., Designing slides, Working with text, Images, graphics and tables, Structuring transitions and animations, Audio and video, Comments or notes).
