1. To know, in practice and in a meditated way, the work of several institutions or personalities that carry out their activity in the cultural area;
2. Be able to propose a new idea that could be developed in the area of culture in the Beira Interior region.

Syllabus |
1. Cultural visits in the UBI buildings and in the city of Covilhã;
2. Some themes for analysis concerning those who work in the area of culture: art, image, literature, spirituality, economy, state, education;
3. Cultural visits in the region of Beira Interior;
4. Culture and the future of Europe;
5. Individual preparation of a project proposal that could be developed in the Beira Interior region.

Teaching Methodologies and Assessment Criteria |
With this curricular unit having an eminently practical character, something that can be seen in the 30 hours of laboratory practices and the 20 hours of tutorial guidance, the syllabus proposes study visits and sessions with specialists in the areas that are treated in this chair, which concretizes this pragmatic dimension, and the assessment focuses, according to all this, on the proposal of a project, whose initial presentation has a weight of 3 points, 5 points in the case of student workers, and whose final version is rated at 15 points, 10 for the written text and 5 for the oral presentation. 2 points are awarded for active participation in group sessions.
