Learning outcomes Understand and employ the concepts and techniques associated with telemedicine.

At the end of the curricular unit the student should be able to:
- Understand the principles underlying the telemedicine systems
- Know how to operate the equipment
- Evaluate the advantages and limitations of telemedicine systems
- Follow technological development
- Suggest new ideas and features to existing systems
- Make demonstrations of the systems with regard to different types of users
- Demonstrate critical spirit and ethical responsibility
- Ability to dialogue with manufacturers
- Specify, analyze and select among the various proposals of the market

Teaching Methodologies and Assessment Criteria The periodic assessment consists of a project (S1+S2+S3+RF) and a knowledge assessment test (PC):
Seminar 1 (oral presentation) (S1) (10%)
Seminar 2 (oral presentation) (S2) (10%)
Seminar 3 (oral presentation) (S3) (20%)
Final report (RF) (10%)
Minimum attendance in practical classes of 50%*
Knowledge assessment test (PC) (50%)

*Students in special regimes must contact the teacher.

Approval
The student will be approved if their final grade is equal or greater than 9.5 out of 20 and attendance of 50%* of practical classes:

Final grade= 0.1*S1+0.1*S2+0.2*S3+0.1*RF+0.5PC

Admitted to exam
The student will be admitted to the exam if they attend 50%* of practical classes:
Final grade=0.5*Exam+0.5*Practice (related to the practical assessment already carried out)

Language Portuguese. Tutorial support is available in English.
