Learning outcomes |
This course's primary objective is to expand knowledge on architectural theory during the 20th century, namely referring to the thinking of referential architecture practitioners, both in the Modern and Contemporary period. Departing from the opposition between Modernity and Post-Modernity, the course will explore the evolution of values, concepts and movements that have influenced architectural practice, including its social impacts, cultural contributions and integration into wider historical contexts. Allied to specific knowledge acquisition, planned practical exercises will have as central goals the development of research skills and critical thought, either at the individual level and as part of team work.
