Learning outcomes |
The general outcomes of this optional course are to encourage students to perceive, comprehend, and communicate architecture through methodologies and representation tools adapted to various architectural project contexts. The aim is to cultivate an effective visual culture in the graphic communication of architecture.
Various methodologies are explored, ranging from analog to digital, from photography to models, depending on different architectural contexts or phases, from communicating in the context of idea competitions to project licensing or execution.

Syllabus |
1. Representation and Technical Drawing: How to represent to communicate an idea? 2. Concept of Synthesis Panels: What is intended to be communicated through panels? Organization and composition of information. 3. Designing a Process for Licensing and Execution: What phases and components are part of a licensing process? Idea development vs. Municipal Licensing vs. Execution. How to communicate? 4. Integrated Methodology of Representation Tools. Bridging Analog and Digital: Preparation of files by layers; Assembly and editing in Photoshop of various layers; Assembly and graphic composition of supports in InDesign; Final production of files for printing and digital presentation. 5. Photography as a Tool for Analysis and Communication in Architecture: History of photography, authors, and artistic movements; Composition, light, and framing; Architectural and model photography; Image editing in Photoshop and Lightroom.

Teaching Methodologies and Assessment Criteria |
The nature of the classes throughout the semester is Theoretical-Practical (TP). The course begins with theoretical classes focused on the exposition and analysis of concepts, and subsequently transitions to practical classes involving execution and experimentation through practical exercises linked to the representation within the Project curriculum. Through Theoretical-Practical classes, the aim is to, in the initial phase, present case studies based on the analyzed examples, and in the second phase, to practice by experimenting with the effectiveness of different architectural communication methodologies in the real context of the Project curriculum. Students will be guided daily in these classes, which will be conducted in-person.
