Learning outcomes The goal of this course unit is to interpret the visible light as an electromagnetic wave. It also establishes the physical principles that concern the phenomena of interference, diffraction and polarization of the light. By the end of this course unit the student should be able to describe, analyse, and interpret the optical phenomena of interference, diffraction, and polarization of the light. The student should also be able to solve problems and exercises. This course unit intents also to give to the student the ability to prepare and to carry out laboratorial experiments and to work in team in order to apply the acquired knowledge and competences to practice.
