Objectives and Learning outcomes of the Course Unit To build an integrate and compreensive vision on actual themes pertaining to education such as school violence, education for citizenship transdisciplinary epistemology and relationship between information and knowledge in the educational process.
At the end of this CU, student must te able to:
Plan, implement and assess pedagogical intervention, violence prevention-oriented and promoter of citizenship;
Apply transdisciplinary concepts and tools to educational context and teaching practices.
Recognize the role of education in the transition from the "information society" to the "knowledge society".

The Crisis of the socializing institutions and Violence at School
1.1. Violence and Education: concept and practice.
1.2 Bullying: Definition, characteristics and consequences.
1.3 Intervention and Prevention of Violence at School: strategies and programs.

1. What is epistemology? Brief introduction to epistemological thought
2. What is the transdisciplinary epistemology? Distinctions between disciplinary, multi-, inter-and transdisciplinary approaches
3. Transdisciplinarity in educational environment.

1. The economic, technological and ideological origins of the "information society".
2. The problem of the relationship between information and knowledge - the central role of education.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods Teaching and learning activities and pedagogical methods include theoretical and practical sessions (with content exposition and discussion, case studies analyses and preparation of group programs, sessions and plans) tutorial orientation (with answering questions, monitoring of ongoing activities and feedback on the work developed) and independent study (with literature review and knowledge deepen).
