Kick Off Meeting UNITA - Universitas Montium starts the consortium actions

The presentation and start of the project is scheduled for Friday, November 6, in online mode. In the afternoon, it will be open to the whole community, who will thus be able to get to know the consortium that brings together six European academies gathered around common challenges.

The Kick Off Meeting of the UNITA - Universitas Montium consortium is scheduled for November 6th. This is one of the projects supported by the European Commission with the aim of modernizing Higher Education in the European Union. The event will take place online, throughout the day, with the afternoon works open to the whole community. 

The morning program includes the presentation and discussion of actions to be developed in 2020-21.

In the afternoon, starting at 3 pm CET, a public presentation of the project will take place involving six universities in Spain, France, Italy, Portugal and Romania.

The work will focus on topics related to the transformation of Higher Education through the European Universities project and, directly related to UNITA, the consortium coordinators and key areas will be made known: the participatory and inclusive European University; Education and Mobility; Research and Development for the territories; Multilingual; the perspectives of mountain populations on European citizenship; the inter-university campus; and dissemination and sustainability.

The session continues with the final debate between the partners and the closing is scheduled for 5:45 pm.

UNITA is a partnership between the University of Beira Interior, the Universidad de Zaragoza (Spain), the Université de Pau et Des Pays de L'Adour and the Université Savoie Mont Blanc (France), the Università Degli Studi di Torino (Italy) and the Universitatea de Veste din Timisoara (Romania). What they have in common is that they are located in mountain areas, close to the borders of their countries, where languages based on Latin are spoken.

The consortium was selected by the European Union to integrate the European Universities project, becoming part of the plan to modernize the European education space.The European Union's strategy aims to increase the competitiveness of Higher Education in its space, deepening cooperation between institutions, its students and staff, sharing physical resources, courses, expertise, data and infrastructure.
