Code 11095
Year 1
Semester S1
ECTS Credits 6
Workload PL(30H)/T(30H)
Scientific area Informatics
Entry requirements The teaching methodologies adopted allow not only to instill theoretical concepts, but also to develop the ability to solve problems using a programming language. The main theoretical contents are exposed, explained and discussed in theoretical classes, where the student can understand the concepts and mechanisms of structured programming. On the other hand, practical laboratories, mainly composed of programming exercises in language JAVA, allow the student to experience and apply the theoretical knowledge obtained in theoretical classes. Programming exercises help the student develop problem solving skills using a programming language and consolidate JAVA language learning.
Mode of delivery Face-to-face instruction.
Work placements Not applicable.
Learning outcomes Introduce the basic concepts of procedural programming.
Develop algorithms to solve problems and implement them using the JAVA programming language.
At the end of the CU, the student should be able to develop algorithms to solve problems, master the basic concepts of procedural programming, be able to use the JAVA language to implement the developed algorithms, know the simple and compose data types, the decision and repetition structures, the concepts of definition and usage of sub-programs, files, strings, pointers, vectors and matrices.
