- Know how to select a specific switched reluctance drive and how to control it.
- Understand the processes to be adopted in the design of a switched reluctance machine and how to apply them.
Syllabus I. Introduction to the switched reluctance machines (SRM):
I.1. Principle of operation of the SRM.
I.2. The rotating motor and the linear motor.
II. Operating Characteristics of the MRVC:
II.1. The operating characteristics in stationary regime.
II.2. The operating characteristics in transient regime.
II.3. Analysis of the machine through analytical methods.
II.4. Analysis of the machine through numerical methods.
III. Design of the MRVC:
III.1. Methods applied in the design.
III.2. The parametric design.
III.3. Design using CAD.
IV: Control of the MRVC:
IV.1. The electronic converters used in the machine drive.
IV.2. Machine control methodologies.
IV.3. The acoustic noise and methods applied to its minimization.
IV.4. Sensorless control of the MRVC.
V. Applications of the MRVC.
VI. The MRVC used as generator: design, analysis and control.
