Entry requirements |
The MSc work presupposes a work of scientific nature on a subject framed in at least one scientific area of the MSc course. The research work to be carried out must, typically, be the fruit of an in-depth analysis of the literature and is fundamentally aimed at proposing a relevant solution from the theoretical and, as far as possible, generalized point of view to Industrial Engineering and Management. In this context, the previous knowledge will be dependent on the chosen theme and the supervisor will be responsible for deepening the knowledge and eventually sensitizing the student to attend complementary curricular units. On the other hand, the choice of optional curricular units allows the student to specialize according to the chosen subject.

Learning outcomes |
The objective of the MSc work is to demonstrate that the student has the ability to apply the knowledge acquired during the course, analyzing a specific topic in the training area, in a critical and independent way. The MSc work presupposes a work of scientific nature on a subject framed in at least one scientific area of the MSc course. It should have a framing component and a critical discussion of the literature and a theoretical, experimental and/or simulation exercise component that promotes an innovative approach to the chosen topic. It should also present a concluding summary and suggestions for future work. The research work to be carried out should, typically, be the result of an in-depth analysis of the literature and is fundamentally intended to propose a relevant solution from the theoretical and, as far as possible, generalized point of view to Industrial Engineering and Management.

Syllabus |
The program content and planning of each Dissertation work is defined by the supervising teacher(s) and approved by the Course Committee. The MSc work (Dissertation) falls within an annual curricular unit corresponding to 42 ECTS credits. The total credits attributed to the final work correspond to approximately 1120 hours of work. Thus, the Dissertation is divided by the 3rd semester (12 ECTS) and by the 4th semester (30 ECTS).
|
Main Bibliography |
The bibliography of each Dissertation work should typically demonstrate that the work resulted from an in-depth literature review. In this context, state-of-the-art support must be demonstrated by reference to major textbooks and other current texts as scientific papers for bibliographic review and description of the research techniques. It is the responsibility of the student, on the supervision of the guidance team, to present a detailed list of the bibliography studied necessary to fulfill the objectives of the Dissertation work.
