Entry requirements No requirements.
Mode of delivery Presential teaching in CAD laboratory. Theoretical-practical and practical classes in computer applications.
Work placements Not applicable.
Learning outcomes Understand the modeling of garments in 2D and relate it to the layout of patterns in 3D.
Perceive the importance of simulation in three dimensions of garments.
Knowing use in real context programs for creating clothing models and their simulation in programs with threedimensional manikins.
Changes of patterns in 3D and perceive the results in 2D.
Syllabus I - Generic concepts about 2D and 3D modeling. Main existing approaches.
II - Computer-aided modeling. Use of knowledge acquired on the use of the program
Modaris. Extraction of parts. Creation of simulation variants.
III- Sewing workshop of the Modaris program. Application of virtual seams to the different patterns that constitute
a garment. Special seams. Opposite threading points and notches.
IV - Simulation of garments with virtual seams in the Modaris 3D Prototyping program. Choose and
manipulation of posture and dimensions of the mannequin. Dress and drape garments.
V - Choice of fabrics, knits and prints, as well as accessories for application in clothing simulation.
VI - Analysis of the placement of parts on the mannequins. Determination of clearances and stresses on the parts of
simulated clothing. Correction and alteration of patterns in the Modaris 3D Prototyping program. Verification of
2D pattern changes.
