Learning outcomes	This curricular unit is an introduction to ethics and aims to encourage reflection on the role of cinema in shaping the ethical and moral development/ education of individuals and society. At the end of the unit students should be able to (i) circumscribe the scope of ethics; (ii) discuss the relationship between ethics, politics and law; (iii) identify different types of ethics and describe their characteristics; (iv) evaluate the filmic approach on ethical questions in the light of the ethical typology; (v) positioning itself on the role of cinema in the ethical-moral formation of individuals.

Teaching Methodologies and Assessment Criteria	This curricular unit is eminently theoretical-practical, with moments of theoretical exposition, discussion and viewing and analysis of movies. Assessment criteria a) A script for a short film alluding to one of the topics of items I and II of the program, with presentation and discussion (individual task, 50%); b) Film's analysis, to be presented in class and with a written component (group task, 50%)
