Work placements Students will be placed 20h in one of the UCSP from ACES Cova da Beira, Castelo Branco ou ULS from Guarda, under the supervision of a family medical tutor while doing his integrated activities. Students will have to do the family medical history of one of the doctor’s patients using the application of the appropriate grids for evaluation.
Learning outcomes Characterize Primary Health Care (CSP); To know the evolution of CSPs in Portugal; To know the functioning of the functional units of CSP, Personalized Health Care Units (UCSP) and Family Health Units (USF); To characterize General and Family Medicine (FGM); To know the FGM and the nuclear competencies of the family physician; To know an organization and functioning of Health Centers (CS) and how functions and the role of each professional within the CS team; To know the methodology of the consultation and the importance of the communication in the clinical context; Relate CSPs to other levels of health care; To know the programs of prevention and health promotion for the education of the users; To know the family's familiarity and importance in the health / illness relationship.

Organization of CSP activities; 6. Types of queries; 7. Activities developed within the scope of intervention of the UCSP and USF; 8. CSP Team: Functions of the team and each professional and their articulation within the team; 9. Relation Assistance and Biopsychosocial Model; 10. Importance of the Sociocultural Context in Health Care / Community / Family; 11. Family Approach to Psychosocial Problems and Vital Stages; 12. Preventive and health promotion activities; 13. Health Education; 14. Levels of prevention; 15. Technical guidelines for clinical practice; 16. National vaccination program; 17. Child and Youth Health Program; 18. Reproductive health and family planning; 19. Methodology of the consultation; 20. The importance of communication in the clinical context.
