Learning outcomes |
At the end of this course, the student must be able to: characterize General and Family Medicine (FGM); describe the discipline of General and Family Medicine and the core competencies of the Family Doctor; characterize Primary Health Care; describe the evolution of Primary Health Care in Portugal; describe the organization and functioning of the Health Center Groups; describe the functioning of the Functional Units of the Health Center Groupings (ACeS) and the activities developed within its scope of intervention; describe the methodology of the General and Family Medicine consultation and the importance of communication in the clinical context; describe the referral process between levels of health care; describe prevention and health promotion programs; describe family dynamics and the importance of family and community in the health/disease relationship.
