Learning outcomes - Enable the student to prepare a health research proposal and enable him to develop a project that serves as the basis for the Master's dissertation
- Integrate topics of interest to the student under the guidance of researchers and/or clinical experts;
- Contact with laboratory and research techniques and methodologies, integrating acquired knowledge with current scientific topics;
- Demonstrate reasoning ability based on acquired knowledge and its relationship with the clinic in a holistic approach.
- Develop the ability to work as a team in solving problems and acquiring knowledge as well as the creative and critical capacity for research and clinical activity.
Syllabus In Introduction to Research, the different stages of the scientific method will be addressed, problems approachable by investigation, review of relevant bibliography, computer and bibliographic resources including information management, hypotheses to be tested in research, quantitative and qualitative methodologies, rules on the dissertation of Master's at UBI, different levels of research, Basic, Translational, Clinical, information; monograph, systematic review, meta-analysis, development of research projects, research strategies, health research environment at UBI, Portugal and Europe.

The student can opt for a laboratory research module or a clinical module, lasting 1 week. The laboratory research modules and the clinical modules will address the syllabus taught in the Curricular Units of the 3rd year of the Course in an integrated manner.
Main Bibliography Each topic chosen by students will have a specific bibliography provided by the advisor.
