Teaching Methodologies and Assessment Criteria |
Seminars/lectures (in person or online) on topics and career prospects in Industrial Chemistry, preferably with the participation of Alumnis. Field trips to industrial companies so that students can get in touch with real industrial control processes, equipment and instruments, and, also, with the real use of control methodologies in the Portuguese chemical industries. SWOT analysis (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats) of the visited industries, in relation to the processes developed, the environmental impact and sustainability of the cycles of use of raw materials, water and energy, establishing and describing the opportunities for reuse, reduction and recirculation.
The assessment will consist of 2 parts: 1 - Brief summary of 2 of the seminars/lectures, where the main role of the industrial chemist should be highlighted (20%) 2 - Preparation of SWOT analysis (in groups of 2 students) - 80%
