Interaction with Academia (other collaborating institutions)
Multiple collaborations with other members of Academia were maintained or set up with the main objectives of implementing research projects, co-supervising PhD students or writing up papers). Examples include Universities such as University of Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro, University of Aveiro, University of Coimbra, Instituto Superior Técnico, University of Lisbon, NOVA University of Lisbon, among others, as well as various research centres within various universities, namely CERNAS (Polytechnic Institute of Coimbra) and CIEPQPF (University of Coimbra), CICECO (University of Aveiro).

Interaction with Governance
Some of the Group members were invited to interact with governance in various settings:
Ilídio Correia, as a Member of FCT Evaluation Panel of Call for PhD Research Scholarships – 2022.
Fani Sousa and Carla Cruz: as Members of Project Review Panel - Czech Science Foundation, Czech Republic, and as Project Assessment experts for National Innovation Agency (ANI);
Fani Sousa: as member of Project Assessment for Portuguese Agency for Investment and External Trade (AICEP).
In 2022, there were no interactions with governance, in terms of research projects.

Internationalisation

Several collaborations with partners (listed above) and with companies, namely, Merck KGaA (Oliver Rammo, Germany), BIA Separations (Urh Černigoj, Slovenia), Inocure, Sartorius, Tosoh Bioscience GmbH, Deutschland, Scientific collaboration (contact: Egbert Müller) and ACIB GmbH (Austrian Center of Industrial Biotechnology, Alois Jungbauer; Rainer Hanh).
Moreover, several incoming e outgoing visits, namely: i) outgoing visiting (Carla Cruz) under Project Programa Pessoa – FCT at Université de Bordeaux, Institut Européen de Chimie et Biologie (IECB), França (Gilmar Salgado, IECB, France); ii) visiting Professor ship (Cristina Cabral) within UVA Visiting Professor Program, University of Virginia, School of Engineering and Applied Science, Charlottesville, USA for a stay from 13/09/2022 – 18/09/2022 at the Department of Chemical Engineering; iii) incoming: Researcher David Scheich, from University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences Vienna/Research Group Hahn/Institute of Bioprocess Science and Engineering (September to November 2022)
