Interaction with Academia
The group maintains collaborations with several research centres, universities and polytechnic institutes:

Cochrane Portugal ( ISBE -Prof Vaz Carneiro) and Cochrane Coimbra (IBILI- Prof Miguel Castelo Branco) . Both centers provide support in the creation of the Associate Center for Systematic reviews of literature of UBI ( GRUBI).
Instituto Politécnico de Castelo Branco, Instituto Politécnico da Guarda and Instituto Politécnico de Viseu through the AgeINfuture Association- European center for active and healthy aging. The four academic institutions are providing together, research in aging, dissemination of good practices and support in changes toward active and healthy aging.

Outreach activites
● Participation in the Brain Awareness week
● Since 2020 two members of NND are part of AgeInfuture, an Association recognized as an european centre for Active and healthy aging, with the purpose of improving healthy and active aging, but also to promote and apply research in aging. This association has already 100 partners and includes several municipalities, patients associations, health providers and social groups related to aging .
● 2022: Workshop: "New Parkinson's Therapies", integrado no XIII Beira Interior Medical Meeting, 12 de fevereiro.
● 2022: Participation on the Science and Technology Week at the Health Sciences Research Center, CICS-UBI, with the activity entitled: “O cérebro a Última fronteira”. High school students from the Beira Interior region visited CICS-UBI's facilities where they interacted directly with researchers and participated in lectures and experimental activities, deepening they knowledge about brain structure and functioning.
