Research Interests
The research interests of C. Tomaz cover the area of Bioprocesses and Proteomics. Presently, she is working in the field of downstream processing for purification of gene expression vectors applied in molecular therapy, namely DNA Influenza vaccines, using monolithic and cryogels based chromatography. She is also focused in studying new processes for reducing the alergenicity of proteins. More recently, C. Tomaz started to work in a project funded by Novartis for proteomic analysis of human vitreous humor in ocular pathologies.
