Profile of the programme
Systematic comprehension in a branch of knowledge in the area of Textile Engineering;
Acquisition, through the research work developed for the preparation of the thesis, of skills, methods of research associated with the Textile Engineering aspects;
Conceiving, designing, adapting and conducting research in the area of Textile Engineering respecting the requirements imposed by the standards of academic quality and integrity;
Perform a significant set of original research to contribute to the expansion of the frontiers of knowledge
Key learning outcomes
To have autonomy allowing projecting and perform individually search independent work in the field of Textile Science and Technology;
Develop the ability to present and/or communicate by the completion of written works and oral presentations of developed projects;
Increase the ability of programming strategy and experimental component design so as to devise and promote the realization of projects in academic and/or professional contexts;
Promote the use of informatics tools as a complement to experimental component, particularly in process simulation and validation of results

The Department of Textile Science and Technology has specific Laboratories for supporting the learning, scientific and technological research, mainly:
• Physical Testing of Fibres, Yarns and Fabrics,
• Dyeing, Printing, Finishing, Textile Chemistry and Colorimetry laboratories
• Spinning, non-woven, Weaving and knitting laboratories
• Making Up, sewing and CAD laboratories.
The University supports the Department and its educational and research activities with general facilities, including: Library, Optical and Computing Centers.
