Learning outcomes |
The goals of this course are to provide students with a set of interdisciplinary knowledge in areas such as biosafety, occupational hygiene, analysis and risk management and certification systems. At the end of the course each student will be able to: *Apply hygiene and biosafety standards in performing the work to protect their health and industrial environment. *Describe potentially biohazards, the risks associated with their use and the means to minimize risk and to protect or prevent the release or exposure. *Apply appropriate techniques for handling biological agents, chemical contaminants, radioactive and physical risks, according to the standards of industrial hygiene and biosafety. *Adopt ethical stance in identifying, recording and reporting occurrences relating to health and safety involving yourself or others. *Interpret and implement quality standards.
