Learning outcomes 1. To discuss and analyze the importance and centrality achieved by consumption in contemporary societies;
2. To study different kinds of consumption tendencies and their social meanings;
3. To develop an analytical and critical thought about social phenomena associated to consumption and fashion.
By the end of this unit, students should be able to identify the major aspects of the consumption society, to know and assess the major sociological theories on mass consumption and fashion and to discuss the social impacts caused by fashion and consumption.
