Learning outcomes The main objective of the curricular unit is to enable each student to design a research project in communication that may eventually be used as a basis for the development of his/her master report or dissertation.
At the end of the curricular unit the student must be able to:
1. Characterize the various stages and elements of a scientific research project;
2. Characterize the various stages and rules of the realization of a research project;
3. Develop a research project in communication.
Syllabus 1. The process of scientific research: the importance of the research project. 2. The research project: title, theme and problem, literature review, objectives and hypotheses, research methodology and design, timeline, references. 3. The realization of the research project: data collection, data processing, data analysis and interpretation, writing of the scientific work. 4. Development of a research project in the field of communication (application).

Teaching Methodologies and Assessment Criteria
1- Preparation and presentation of a work on a research technique (30%) and oral presentation of a text provided by the teacher (10%); 2- Development of an individual research project that will serve as the thematic embryo of the future dissertation ( 60%).

The teaching exposition about main methodological issues in group work ( the classroom and tutoring sessions) and each student will be accompanied and trained to develop a research project.
