Learning outcomes In this course unit it is intended that the student acquires knowledge about the materiality of cinema at the technical and aesthetic level, namely 1) autonomous handling of equipment and procedures for the realization of documentary filmmaking and production, preferably related to the region's intangible heritage; 2) artistic, technical and aesthetic choices found in the theme of the cinematographic project and in the production conditions in the documentary for cinema; 3) critically analyze the work developed.

1.3. Viewing and discussion of short films on the subject and their technical and aesthetic choices
2. Directing and producing a short film
2.1 Research process, pre-production and cinematographic treatment
2.2 Preparation of a production file
2.3 Shooting and assembly.
3. Presentation and defense of the short film.
4. Black and white photography printing workshop.

Teaching Methodologies and Assessment Criteria The uc is taught with expository and experimental classes on the operation of image and sound equipment; production and assembly procedures. There are also short-film discussion classes and classes in which students present and defend their cinematographic projects. Thus, the uc has two fundamental evaluation moments: 1) the presentation and defense of the production file; 2) presentation and defense of the short film made/produced in the presence of professors.

- Duration of the film exercise: 5 days (includes collection and delivery of equipment)
- The teams will consist of 5 elements, with the following positions:
research and development (group), image,directing, editing, sound and production

Language Portuguese. Tutorial support is available in English.
