Learning outcomes |
This course aims to develop knowledge and practices in the orientation, promotion and prescription of exercise for individuals in the context of individualized workout and exercise programs and health according to the characteristics of the target population competencies. Each student should i) understand the pedagogical principles underlying classes personal training and exercise and health activities, demonstrating teaching skills in their orientation; ii) demonstrate a basic mastery in performing physical activities in the context of individualized training and in the context of exercise and health programs and be able to prescribes, program and evaluate exercise programs to improve cardiorespiratory fitness, muscular strength, flexibility and body composition for moderately trained and untrained individuals.

Module I – Prescription and control of activities in the context of Exercise and Health 1.Principles of exercise prescription: variables, structure, equipment, technique and aids. 2. Cardiorespiratory endurance training: effects, prescription, case studies and practical guidance 3.Muscular resistanc training: effects, prescription, case studies and practical guidance 4. Flexibility training: effects, prescription, case studies and practical guidance 5. Postural training: effects, prescription, case studies and practical guidance 6. Teaching Methodologies and Assessment Criteria |
The teaching/learning activities consist of theoretical and theoretical-practical classes. Group work will also be carried out with a view to the pedagogical practice of guiding physical activities in the context of Exercise and Health. The pedagogical methodology is of an interactive nature, promoting learning through a shared approach to problems. In addition, several classes are used for supervised Pedagogical Practice at the level of carrying out personalized training and exercise programs for special populations. Content and support material are made available to students through the interactive moodle platform. The evaluation of the UC will be carried out through the evaluation of the supervised pedagogical practice, being evaluated in the lesson plans and reports. The assessment will also include written tests. The Teaching and Learning Classification (CEA) will be obtained periodically with 3 evaluation moments: CEA= 30% M1 + 45% M2 + 25%M3
