Learning outcomes |
The objective of the curricular unit is to give students a perspective on emerging topics in computer engineering not currently covered by other curricular units and which may include, for example, blockchains, circuits and quantum computing, green IT, and computer structures and systems synthetic and organic. Students should be able to understand and evaluate choices, solutions and commitments involving emerging technologies in computer engineering.

Teaching Methodologies and Assessment Criteria |
The teaching methodology consists of the presentation of talks on topics previously identified at the beginning of the academic year, being the talk given by professors of the Department, or by invited speakers outside UBI. It should also be explored the possibility of having talks under the Erasmus + Program and under the IEEE Distinguished Lecturer Program.
For each talk, the student should prepare a report, which should include a brief summary of the lecture, strengths, and weaknesses of the lecture, critical analysis, and comments about the lecture. The reports will be evaluated, for a total of 10 values. The remaining 10 values are obtained with a project done in groups of two students, which will be presented and discussed at the end of the semester. This project will be done on an emerging topic that is chosen by each group.
