Learning outcomes - To promote research 'by' and 'for' the design as a generator of relevant issues / problems, with an emphasis on the use of construction technologies and on the rehabilitation of buildings;
- To stimulate a critical analysis on the architectural, conceptual and expressive values of construction technologies, with an emphasis on the building rehabilitation of the building, deepening and widening previous perspectives acquired in the Seminar of Architectural Design and Construction I unit;
- To stimulate the construction of a critical, sustained and coherent argument about the relationship between design, constructive technology and architectural expression;
- To develop skills to analyze the role of constructive technology in the articulation between design and research.
Syllabus 1. Development and deepening of general concepts and theoretical perspectives on the unit themes;
2. Cultural, social and ideological implications of the use of a certain constructive technology.
2. Expressive value of a constructive technology in architecture, especially in building rehabilitation;
3. Relationship between design, construction technology and architectural expression;
4. The investigation 'by' and 'for' the project as a generator of issues / problems relevant to the knowledge and to the practice of architecture, with an emphasis on the use of construction technologies and the rehabilitation of buildings.

Teaching Methodologies and Assessment Criteria Theoretical initial presentation of the subjects of the course.
Five theoretical-practical classes and seminars lectured by invited researchers addressing the different perspectives on the themes of the unit. Invited researchers will take their own doctoral research as a starting point, then articulate them with their practice as designers, teachers and researchers.
Tutorial-orientation classes for the development and monitoring of a theoretical-practical work that will combine the writing of a scientific paper, on the one hand, with a graphic presentation, on the other.
