Learning outcomes This CU aims to:

• Inquire about the traces of a reinscription of the notion of aesthetics and criticism in the context of architecture;
• Identify elements for reflection and criticism of architecture from an aesthetic point of view
Syllabus Presentation: teacher, students, program, work materials, methodology and evaluation. Around the notions of Aesthetics and Criticism.
1. AESTHETICS: THE CONCEPTUAL AND THE EXPERIENTIAL - R. Scruton: aesthetics of architecture; G. Simmel: appreciation of aesthetic experience.
2. THEORETICAL CONFIGURATION OF CRITICISM - Kant: analysis of the Beautiful and analysis of the Sublime.
3. BODY, MOVEMENT AND ARCHITECTURAL SPACE - L. Umbelino: the spatial side of memory.
4. AESTHETIC MODEL OF THE RHIZOME: THE CONSTRUCTION UNDER CONSTRUCTION – Deleuze and Guattari: The aesthetic idea. Architecture and rhizome.
CONCLUSION. Existential aesthetics: Maggie Centers.

Teaching Methodologies and Assessment Criteria 1) 4 class questions on each module of the program and following its presentation. The three best classifications count – weighting: 10%+10%+10%=30%; 2) Original, individual or group written work (8-10 pages) – weighting: 60%. The work must be submitted on the Moodle platform by May 21st and will be subject to oral presentation and discussion (40% written; 20% oral). Two options for this work: 1. Express your own position on one of the theses presented; 2. Analyze one of the referenced texts. 3) The remaining 10% will be considered in terms of active participation and relevant oral interventions;
