Learning outcomes This course aims to give the student theoretical knowledge of the philosophical problematisation of language as well as of the great theories of language.
At the end of the course, the student must have developed skills and competences:
a) Basic - Identify and describe the main problems dealt with by the philosophy of language;
b) Operational - Apprehend and use the fundamental methodological concepts of the main theories of language;
c) Transversal -To develop the self-reflexive capacity on language issues.

Teaching Methodologies and Assessment Criteria The theoretical classes will be mainly based on oral presentation and through multimedia (power point slides), and interactive (internet), of the contents of the course. It will be adopted a methodology of pedagogical-didactic action of initial exposure, followed by commented reading of key texts previously shared and followed by critical discussion in class. The exposure of the topics should maximize the clarity and secure acquisition of concepts, the practice of commentary and joint discussion should serve to consolidate learning.

According to this methodology, the assessment is based on the realization of two exercise tests, the elaboration of a short essay, on a topic previously agreed with the teacher in charge, and, finally, the active participation in class. The exercise tests will have a "weight" of 20% each in the final mark, the essay 50% and the active participation in class 10%.
