Learning outcomes Know the structures of simple, composite and special fabrics, color effects and patterns
Mastering the technical parameters of fabrics, their calculation and analysis methodology and influencing performance
Understand the parameters of fabric geometry and the relationship with its construction technique.
Know the methodology for the development of warp and weft fabric collections and its implications for the company's rentability
Deepen skills for fabric design, through the ability to develop patterns in a CAD system, using the appropriate choice of warp and weft yarns, color sequences, yarn densities and weaves
Deepen skills to relate materials, the structural characteristics of fabrics, the field of application and the level of quality determined by the market.

Teaching Methodologies and Assessment Criteria The pedagogical methodology foresees expository sessions by the teacher and practical work, is active and cooperative, encouraging reflection and focusing on the student to acquire concepts, problem solving, research and practical work. The teaching/learning activities are part of theoretical, theoretical-practical and practical classes, using audiovisual means. Carrying out practical work with a laboratory nature. Carrying out a group work, fabric project, presented orally and discussed in front of the class, encouraging critical analysis of all students. The assessment is based on a written multiple-choice test (50%) and on a project (50%) for the ongoing assessment and the classification of frequency, and an exam. The frequency criterion is 6 values and for approval is 10 values..
Language Portuguese. Tutorial support is available in English.
