Learning outcomes Understand and apply the rules of IUPAC nomenclature for organic compounds. Classify and identify the most common organic functional groups. Predicting the global three-dimensional structure of organic molecules relatively simple by applying the basic principles of bonding, hybridization and analysis of conformation.
Known the concept of chemical equilibrium and the factors that it depends. Perform calculations involving the equilibrium constant. Identify buffers in equilibrium systems and explain their function. Perform calculations involving the acid and basic constants. Identify oxidation-reduction processes. Recognize an electrochemical cell, in terms of its components and their functions. Perform calculations involving concepts of redox balance by applying Nernst equation. Determine the solubility of a compound in aqueous solution and correlate the solubility with the solubility product. Perform calculations involving solubility product.

Syllabus The course contents are divided into two modules: M1 and M2.
