Learning outcomes |
Mastery of User-Centered-Design (UCD) methodologies to support the ergonomic analysis of products and interaction situations in real context with clothing and fashion products or props. Students will be able to recognize the main work steps and instruments used by Ergonomics in Design, being able to act as Fashion Designers in multidisciplinary projects focused on real world, target audience needs and / or usability evaluation of fashion and clothing products. The main objective is to enable students to identify, understand and interfere in all dimensions of comfort (physical, synesthetic, psychological, social and cultural) in fashion and clothing products.. In partnership with the Fashion Design course (16420), students will develop joint projects, considering various system constraints (client, market, production, raw materials, and user).

This UC is divided into 2 blocks, a theoretical block where the main themes of ErgoDesign are introduced and discussed and the importance of user knowledge in the Fashion and Clothing project, and a second block dedicated to the practical application of this knowledge in Project 2, in partnership with the UC of Clothing Design. In each block there are evaluations that can be individual theoretical evaluations (oral or written), group work (TG) or individual work (IT) and divided by the type of presentation that can be theoretical (T); theoretical-practical (TP) or practical (P). Delivery of the final individual report and descriptive report in partnership with Project II of Garment Design Credit Unit.

Teaching Methodologies and Assessment Criteria |
The works with statements based on the syllabus content of the UC, will evaluate the theoretical knowledge acquired by the student in the scope of the UC and its capacity for practical application in Project 2. The evaluation criteria for each work are described in the respective statements. Generically, the following will be considered for each job: The correct application of the respective work protocol; The methodology used in the research and development process; The application of content developed in class; The quality and innovation of the solutions presented; The quality of presentation; The final quality of the work. Papers that have not been accompanied by teachers in class are not accepted. The work is counted towards the final grade of frequency and improvement. Evaluation: 100% periodic presentations [25% (1a) + 25% (2a) + 25% (3a)+25%(final exam)] Missing classes/presentations can reduce grade by up to 20% Admision: minimum 6 . This CU has no exam.
