Learning outcomes 1 - Develop skills for the practical exercise of the profession of journalist and encourage reflection on the options and role of journalism. Know and practice the different steps of journalistic production.
2 - Evaluate the importance of sources and the relationship with them. Know how to collect, select and prioritize data when preparing journalistic works.
3 - Be able to develop and deepen themes and angles of approach.
4 - Organize, plan and produce work within the various genres.
Syllabus 1. The journalist’s relationship with sources: Qualification, reliability, verification, confidentiality.
2. The practice of different genres: News, interviews and chronicles.
3. The journalistic production cycle: Planning and preparing; contact and collect; structuring, writing and editing.
4. The report: Development.

Teaching Methodologies and Assessment Criteria 1. Participation in preparation exercises in classes: 20% of the quotation for all assignments.
2. Creation of journalistic works of various genres (with special emphasis on interviews and reports) to be published in a newspaper in printed format entirely made up of articles written by the class. (Constitution of editorial offices and editorial leadership). Th ejournalistic works must be made in groups of two elements. Only two, at most, can be opinion (these are done individually), and at least four works of informative genres must be produced (report, interview or news – with first-hand sources): 50% of the quote.
3. Final report (in groups of two) for publication on the Jornal do Fundão website, using available digital resources: 30% of the quote.
