Learning outcomes 1 - Identify and describe the different existing political systems.

2 - Describe, analyze and understand the relationships between different types of political systems and the mass media.

3 - Understand the functioning of the Estado Novo and the importance of the media for its affirmation.

At the end of the UC the student must be able to:

A) delimit, relate and operationalize the concepts of “political system” and
“mass media”;

B) identify and describe the main models of interaction between “political systems” and “mass media”;

C) examine, evaluate and discuss the role of “mass media” in the configuration of different types of “political systems”.
