Kick-off Meeting of the INNOUNITA project

11 of november of 2021  UNITA

On November 11th, from 11 am to 1 pm, will occur the Kick-off Meeting of the INNOUNITA project in the C_Lab room – Rettorato, Università degli Studi di Torino. This event will be the launch of an important project which will pave the way for strengthening the role of the European Institutions in the field of innovation.

The project will be presented by the Rector of the University of Turin, together with some important members of the business environment of the region, such as Confindustria and the Chamber of Commerce. The importance of the project stands in the opportunity this will give to students and staff to be involved and better understand the entrepreneurial field. On the same day, also the Director of Education of EIT Food, Marteen Van Der Kamp, and the partners will be involved to share their view and present the strong importance of this new project.

HEI INITIATIVE is a pilot call issued by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) in 2021, with the aim of helping Higher Education Institutions to develop the capacity to innovate and teach innovation and entrepreneurship. More specifically, the initiative tends to encourage these institutions to look at their own practices and develop concrete actions in order to improve the impact on the existing ecosystems.

The value added of the project INNOUNITA stands within the nature of the opportunities which will be created through the creation of one of the most updated and attractive networks for opportunities in innovation. The project is organized to avoid the ‘one-shot’ moment, creating instead a creative and smart pipeline for the young innovators, from high schools to start-ups or to the activities in research and development, making the participants aware (and eventually active members) of each program within the communities of knowledge and innovation of EIT.

INNOUNITA wants to be a ‘laboratory of knowledge’, by creating of an ecosystem of open innovation through a triple partnership (universities, companies, territory). This project can be particularly important to build a critical mass of new knowledge and opportunities, also by contributing to filling the gap of entrepreneurial and managerial competencies in students and researchers. This will happen through the definition of a standard of UNITA for the training and mentoring program on entrepreneurship for students, professors and staff, developing a model for best practices for stages, connecting students, researchers and companies.
