Led by the Université Savoie Mont Blanc, ten European universities, among them the six Unita partners, are joining forces to organize the first “Tour du Mont-Blanc Erasmus + Student Trail.” This event is dedicated to the promotion of sports during studies, to European citizenship and to the environment’s protection. To get the chance to join this adventure, students had to edit a one-minute video to express their motivation and creativity and find a way to stand out. The number and quality of the videos submitted has shown the motivation of the students get back in touch with sport and intercultural experiences in these challenging times where mobility opportunities are limited.
Fifty students have been selected for this intense and collective journey which will take place from June 5th to 12th. Five multicultural teams will face each other in a physical and a creative challenge. During this five-day hike, they will have to show team spirit in order to shot their own video, in which there will to present their innovative ideas to better include sport at University.
Taking place near Chamonix and the Mer de Glace (Sea of Ice), the largest glacier in France, this tour will be the opportunity to observe the effects of climate change on this fragile environment. During the tour, two professors from the Unita Alliance (Università degli Studi di Torino and Université Savoie Mont Blanc) will hold an on-site information session on landscape protection.
This project supported by the Erasmus+ Sport program is an opportunity for the Unita Alliance to once again reinforce the close relationships between its members, to boost student’s cooperation and involvement in the partnership, as well as being connected to local and mountain territories such as Mont-Blanc. The participants will live an unforgettable experience and will for sure be the first ambassadors of Unita among student communities.
