Mário Raposo elected Rector of UBI

Mário Lino Barata Raposo was elected on April 14 and will be the next Rector of the University of Beira Interior (UBI). The fifth Rector in the history of UBI is thus elected and his inauguration will take place in the coming weeks.

Abel Gomes and Paulo Moniz also competed for the succession of António Fidalgo, current Rector.

Mário Lino Barata Raposo is Full Professor at the Department of Management and Economics at UBI (Faculty of Social and Human Sciences) and researcher at NECE - Research Center in Business Sciences. He developed his entire academic and professional career at UBI (and at the institute that preceded it), where he began teaching as a Trainee Assistant in 1983.

Among the positions held, the participation in several rector teams stands out, such as vice-rector and pro-rector, the presidency of the Department of Management and Economy and the directions or coordinations of CFIUTE – Centro de Formação e Interação UBI-Tecido Empresarial, GAPPI - Project and Research Support Office or the NECE Research Unit - Center for Studies in Business Sciences, among others.

He was a course director, at UBI, of the Doctoral Program in Marketing and Strategy, in consortium with the Universities of Aveiro and Minho; and the Marketing Degree courses, the Master's in Health Units Management and the Master's in Management.

Mário Raposo holds a BA in Accounting and Administration and a Management Degree from the Instituto Universitário da Beira Interior. He also holds the Post-Graduation “European Doctoral Program in Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management”, by the Autonomous University of Barcelona. He obtained a PhD in Management and Aggregation in Management, at UBI.
