On February 11th, the UNITA Rural Workshop - Public Policies, Entrepreneurship and Equality Policies in the Interior took place, organized by the University of Beira Interior, with the collaboration of AAUBI - Academic Association of the University of Beira Interior.

As part of the activities of the UNITA - Universitas Montium consortium, the event took place in the ADERES Auditorium, in Cortes do Meio, and gathered a set of actors connected to the local power (Covilhã City Hall and CIMBSE, associated partner of UBI in UNITA), higher education, business and social intervention. The sessions were very dynamic and addressed various topics, from public policies and entrepreneurship in the interior, knowledge transfer (relationship between companies and universities), gender inequality in the interior of the country and the inequality of opportunities between central/coastal and peripheral regions, and even more controversial issues such as those related to the extraction of lithium in the region.

During the workshop, a certificate was also delivered to the PhD student in Political Science at UBI, Vinícius Barbosa Albernaz, who won the UNITA Prize "European Citizenship and Identity", promoted by the consortium UNITA - Universitas Montium, with the work "Youth Parliament: programs, processes and civic youth experiences", fruit of the student's master's thesis.

The organization thanks the precious collaboration of the Parish Council of Cortes do Meio, ADERES - Associação de Desenvolvimento Rural Estrela-Sul, AAUBI, as well as the presence and participation of all the students and stakeholders.
