Learning outcomes |
Considering this course's practical aspect, we seek to apply knowledge already taught in other undergraduate courses on the specificities inherent to images: perception, composition, stroke, line, point, color, and plane. Introduce students to basic but fundamental software that enables them to produce images or syncretic messages composed of images and words, such as posters, books/photobooks, and leaflets. The software used is LightRoom, Photoshop, and Canva. Familiarize students with the workflow of cataloging and managing images, editing and printing images, and photobook layout.

Image, theoretical foundations
Perception, basic elements of visual messaging. Visual message composition techniques.
1- Lightroom: principles and philosophy
2- Library mode. Knowing how to choose and organize for popular time. The importance of synchronization;
Before you start editing: knowing how to archive
3- Develop mode: mastering the commands
Photoshop
1- Before you start: preview;
2- The workspace: the photography workspace
3- Workflow. The fundamental importance of knowing how to work with layers (each instruction a layer). Links between layers; masks, selections; image operations on layers; inserting text.
4- Basic workflow for a cover.
5- Compressing layers and preparing the file output (output for online or print)

Teaching Methodologies and Assessment Criteria |
Individual production of a 32-page photobook using LightRoom, published in HTML5, with a 40% weighting.
Individual production of a poster or magazine cover using Photoshop, with a 30% weighting.
Individual production of a leaflet using Canva, with a 20% weighting.
Supervisory evaluation of the work (tutorial classes): 10%.
