Learning outcomes |
Goal: To study the characteristics of Architecture throughout history, from its beginnings to the Middle Ages.
Skills:
1. To understand the historical, cultural, religious, social, and political context of architecture in space and time;
2. To understand the formal and structural characteristics of architectural works through observational skills;
3. To identify the building materials, techniques, and construction systems applied in architectural works;
4. To identify key architectural works from each historical period, describing similarities and differences in plan, volume, ornamentation, function or symbolism.

Teaching Methodologies and Assessment Criteria |
1. Attendance/Written test (50%, 10 out of 20).
This will allow us to assess whether students have assimilated the material taught and obtained the defined competencies. The test will have a theoretical and a practical component on the Unit content.
2. Practical work with oral presentation in a classroom setting and report (50%, 10 out of 20).
A practical assignment will be carried out, based on bibliographic research on architecture in a historical period from prehistory to the Middle Ages.
