Learning outcomes This CU is oriented towards the preparation and discussion of students' research projects. Its objective is to deepen the skills necessary for the elaboration and writing of a thesis with a demanding quality standard through collective learning work in a seminar regime. Among the skills to be acquired, the following stand out: awareness of the process of writing and techniques for writing a thesis. It also seeks to encourage the reading, analysis, and cross-discussion of scientific texts that doctoral students must prepare at the end of the semester (thesis projects). Finally, the capacity for oral and argumentative presentation before audiences specialized in scientific work is also exercised.
Syllabus Seminar sessions focus on discussing ways of approaching epistemological and methodological approaches to scientific research. In the first part, the seminar is oriented towards the presentation and discussion of the main strategies available for the development of a Ph.D. work, with a view to supporting the students' choices regarding their respective projects. In the second part, it is intended to prepare students for the development of thesis work, namely fieldwork and writing of the thesis.
Teaching Methodologies and Assessment Criteria Students will deliver a research project based on FCT criteria.
